Processed
Rebar

DaehanSteel, as a consulting advisor of steel production, has been processing rebar with the automated cutting-edge production facilities, delivering various shapes of the product to construction sites in meeting the customer’s needs. Processed rebar ensures uniform shape and reduction of construction period.

Cap Bar

Along with stirrups, cap bars are used to round main rebars like cap-ties or shear reinforcements to overcome shear strength in beam construction. For columns, they are used as D-hoops.

Types of Processed Rebar

  • ㅡShaped Bar
    ㅡShaped Bar

Not processed steel bar or steel bar processed into ㅡshape.

  • ㄷShaped Bar
    ㄷShaped Bar

Steel bar processed into ㄷ shape. It is mainly used for settlement in a monolithic structure.

  • Haunch
    Haunch

To prevent concrete structures from having local damages by the concentration of tensile stress on the spot where the thickness and height of members rapidly change, the cross section is slowly increased and decreased. The haunch is used on the spot.

    • * Haunch is used mainly for the difference of floors in footing and beam or the curved walling.
  • Spiral
    Spiral

The band-type steel bar rolls up around columns. It has high allowable shaft load and is resistant to torsion.

  • Bend Bend
    Bend

It is a main steel bar used for beam and slab. The bend type is used largely in Korea and Japan while other countries adopts cut bars. In Korea, currently, the bend type is hardly seen in beam, and it is used in some of the slab construction.

  • D-Hoop(Cap Bar)1 D-Hoop(Cap Bar)2
    D-Hoop(Cap Bar)

Cap bar is used to cover the top of the open-type stirrup in beam construction. It plays a role of preventing the buckling of steel bars in columns. One end is bent at 90 degrees, and the other end at 135 degree.

    • * Otherwise, both ends are bent at 90 degrees. (D10 and D13 are mainly used.)
  • Shear Reinforcement1 Shear Reinforcement2 Shear Reinforcement3
    Shear Reinforcement

To deal with shear force in the beam, it is designed in the orthogonal direction of main steel bars.

    • * The same size with stirrup is used. D10 and 13 MM are mainly used. Although the first image shows a most ideal structure, the other two shear reinforcement may be used after consultation with construction sites for the sake of convenience.
  • Hoop1 Hoop2 Hoop3 Hoop4
    Hoop

Hoop increases the compressive strength of columns by connecting main steel bars, preventing main steel bars coming out due to the compressive force.

    • * Various types of hoops are used depending on earthquake-proof, non earthquake-proof, SRC, shapes and sizes of columns. The first image is used for earthquake-proof columns, the second for non earthquake-proof columns, the third for SRC columns, the use of coupler or large-sized columns, and the fourth for round columns.
(D10 and 13MM are mainly used.)
    • * Width of column – Cover thickness = Width of hoop
